The boss of PMC was here a few weeks ago and we talked about the petcock situation. PMC is working with a manufacturer to get some FAR better replica petcocks made - they should be available this year.
The ones being sold at the moment are absolute garbage. There are three main problems.
1) they leak - if not immediately, they will soon after installing.
2) many of them are so stiff, you break the lever moving it.
3) they don't flow enough fuel. If you run at wide open throttle, there is a serious risk of the petcock becoming your main jet
Other than that, they look ok.... until you use them

Will the proposed tap be suitable for both the Z1's and A4's?

It should be - although I have yet to see them first hand. I would imagine it is the same petcock but in both black and bare metal finish

Have just bought a genuine second hand fuel tap from Evil-bay America - for £60 posted.
Suspect I will have to pay £20 - 30 on top for handling fees and import tax.
