Hi there,
I'm after a Z1A/B Z900 Z1000 engine to be used for possible spare parts when the engine in my Z1A comes out for rebuild around November this year. I'm told that if it's a Z1000 engine, I need a pre MK2 engine with the small taper crank so that the parts are more compatible.

Why don't you get the original crank reconditioned?

We need either a pork chop crank web with a good taper or complete 900 crank and also a good rotor/starter clutch mechanism plus maybe a few other bits to cover any other surprises when the motor comes apart,
Buying a complete motor should be more cost effective.
