as above people, i've got a french zed thou J1 and want to get her uk reg'd (now we've emigrated to wales) but the cost of a conformity certificate, type approval notice, 1st uk reg, etc. would make this a VERY EXPENSIVE and lengthy process
so with that in mind, and the fact that my bike is in desperate need of a frame up refurb. i thought it might be easier, and hopefully cheaper. to re-frame her
i don't mind if the frame is tatty, bright purple, etc. as i'd will be power coating it
price is important as i'm not a rich man... i wouldn't have moved to wales if i was!!! lol

Hello Phil,
first thing you need is a NOVA. You can do it online - sign up here http://www.gateway.gov.uk/ and follow the instructions.
Make sure that you fill in the import date as less than 2 weeks ago or there could be a penalty. You will need the details of the person you bought it from in France.
Make a note of the NOVA application number - you may get an email notification but you might not.
Get insurance on the frame number - Footman James do that. They will give you a month to provide them with a UK reg.
Next get an MOT. You will also need a form (can't remember the number) for declaring import tax and VAT - there will/should be nothing to pay on an old bike, but fill it in as best as you can.
If you have a French log book you will get an age related plate, based on the 'first in traffic' date on that, otherwise Kawasaki UK can give you a dating letter - provided your bike has it's origianl engine - otherwise there are some online places you can get one and I have heard that those work too.
TAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING!!!!!
Send it all off to Swansea and keep your fingers crossed.
