Had just finished my z1B project today and was riding up to the MOT station,
sods law, the end sheared off the rev counter drive and went under the exhaust cam, this has stripped spiral threads off ex cam, split housing where rev counter drive goes in and thoroughly pissed me off,I may be able to re-use the head by having rev counter entry welded up and get a electronic tacho but i am now wary of the cam as the threads that came off are probably in the sump as they must have gone down the tunnel. Now looking for a head possibly and a exhaust cam!!!!any one got some good ones they want to sell?

I've done something similar myself , probably caused by tightening the exhaust cam down without making sure the rev counter worm drive was meshing with its drive on the exhaust cam. Cos its under the cam you don't see it and think about it. I haven't made the same mistake again though - live and learn
