Good evening and very interesting. The 6-cylinder H**** wasn't there as it's being rebuilt, but I got to buy David Hailwood a drink (lager)

He's also started a petition to get his dad a postumus Knighthood for his efforts over the years..... Mike got the George medal for bravery trying to save a fellow F2 driver from a burning car. Mike died at age 40 in 1981.

Anyhow, I've got to get started on my chores now..... :1r0n

SUPERB Piggy.

Mike and his daughter Michelle were BOTH killed when their Rover SD1 hit a wagon doing an ILLEGAL U turn.
It happened near Banbury on the A34 if my memory is still correct.

SAD DAY INDEED.

My brother was on the telephones at Snetterton in the days of Hailwood, Ago, Read, Ivy, Minter, Cooper and co and took me along sometimes inc The Race of Aces . I have Hailwood's autograph Reads and Ivy's. I had the dubious honour of cleaning Bill Ivy's sports car after his French girlfriend chucked up :green on the way to the track but I did get a tenner for my trouble. :D I got to sit in Hailwood's Iso Griffo ( think that is what it was ) the day him Phil Read and Bill Ivy got all dressed up in hippy gear and paraded round the paddock.
