A number of us got over to Houthalen this weekend for the Belgian Rally - I packed the bike and set off for the Tunnel for an overnight stop on Thursday evening

Image

Met up with BunnyZ, GotaZ1B, Paul Mac, TLC and Mike Wheeler on Friday morning at the Shuttle Terminal

Image

After a delayed crossing and a tour of the toll road to Paris we eventually met up with Scott

Image

Then we started our tour of French and Belgian motorway services...

Image

Got to the rally site - some of you had arrived ahead of us

Some interesting bikes in and around the venue

We met up with my friends Roger, Terje and Klas from Norway at the hotel for the ride out

Found Scott and Mike hanging around a shed

Paul Mac with Eric...

Eric led the ride out

to Genk Canal...

After the ride out a bit of R&R

Paul and Bunny get the football scores

and Roger does what Norwegians do best

Image

Klas got longest distance covered to get there- 1384kms from Oslo + 260kms to his house.

Image

Then back to Calais on Sunday for the trip home - through probably some of the heaviest rain I have ever ridden in - it was worse than the return trip from the Z40 in 2012

Image

Got home at 20.00 having covered exactly 700 miles in 3 three days.

BIG THANKYOU to Bunny and TLC for organising ferries and hotels - All I had to do was enjoy an excellent rally with some excellent guys. I had a really good time.

What is the tank covered in on the Z2000 ??

Is that a Z13 motor in the 1500R??

Scott covered a fair few miles getting to the Ferry in Blighty and had a good ride up to to rally. Ted and myself left our home towns and had clocked up a Grand Total of about 38 miles when we rode off the Ferry in Rotterdam.

The Z2000's tank is a Vinyl wrapped.

The Z1500 hundred is a bored out Z1300 with a few additions and a paint job

Jimmock, it is vinyl wrap apparently and yes a a z1300 moter in the elr.

The rally was a great event, well attended and with very friendly people. I will definitly go again. It was really good to put names to faces. I finally got to meet Amir, kawamick and Ronnie. Thanks to the boys for meeting me at Calais. The weather was good apart from a wee splash of rain on the way home around Brussels.
I took the pictures on my phone, so not that good but you get the general idea.

I had a mystery guest at 3.00am on Friday night and it was not the female variety. It was one of the very pissed up Germans who obviously did not have a clue where he was. I must point out here that I was NOT VIOLATED in any way. After I kicked him out he was back again within 5 minutes looking for his tent. This time I gave him serious words which I think he did not understand. I heard him disappear calling his friends name for about 20 minutes and then went quiet. I got up in the morning to find he had the same bike as me and the same tent……not surprised he made the mistake when pissed.
