On the way back from the MOT station on my Zed, I ran out of petrol on a very fast dual carriage way. Within a minute, a van stopped behind me and it turned out to be fellow Z1OC member Mark Stratton, who took me to the next petrol station, then all the way back to my bike.
Probably would still be pushing if it wasn't for Mark. What a nice guy.

It was my pleasure Glyn.
I have been in that situation myself pushing my Z some 7 miles so I know that sinking feeling when it dies on you. Besides I managed to meet a fellow club member and see one hell of a nice Z. If I hadn't already spent my money I would be tempted to buy it
As far as I'm concerned the Z1OC is not about "mission statements, agenda's or election of club officers" its about like minded people who love Z's and can help others if it is needed. I was on my way home and had to turn around to get to you, but at the end of the day it was only 30 minutes out of my day so your more than welcome.

I agree
Except that I would have done the same thing for any biker, including H*nda owners

Great story, kudos to Mark.
These Zeds are heavy old buggers. When mine broke down about half a mile from home I pushed it a couple of yards then phoned the breakdown service.

I must admit its not the first time. If I see someone on a bike broken down at the side of the road I always try and stop to see if I can help in any way.
If I'm in my van I have always got my tools so if its just something that needs adjusting etc to get them back on their way I'm glad to help. As I said, been there before myself on more than one occassion.
