I had a short ride out locally this afternoon, I was riding down the road at the end of the runway of Doncaster Robin Hood Airport its only about 3 miles from home as I rode past there crowd at the end of the runway people with cameras , microphones, too much of a crowd to watch a Thomson flight taking off so I turned round to take a closer look and 5 minutes later there was the answer

My first post in the RAF was up in Lossiemouth working on Buccaneers, the old Chief at the time told me some stories about Vulcans flying over in the US (red flag) against the Yanks, the Yanks would think it was just one aircraft, then two Buc's would come up from under each wing and spoil the fun. We had the oldest aircraft but the best people both up ion the air and on the ground!

The Vulcan did a stunning display at Bournmouth air show Saturday and Sunday, then was off to Shoreham air show.
Great show, loved the Black Cats and Chinook displays, and it was the first time I have seen a ME109 fly, also Tornados, Hurricane, Spits, Lancaster. Sun and free too, well worth the 5 hour trip from Mid Wales

were we live, we get chinooks over us probably every couple of weeks, they fly low through the village on training, shake the bloody house to bits

Lived in London Colney when i was young & Vulcans regularly flew from Handley Page. Could see them rising from runway. Bloody noisey beast.

I think I saw one 'flying about' today as I was driving up the M1 having picked up bike in Wellinborough.
First just south of Coventry, then agan further up North.
By the the, if anyone sees any bits of a Z750 scattered about on the M1 North bound, they're mine!
