Odiham motorcycle club ARD

Went up to the airfield today to see what they do there.
Surprised to see not just the ARD airfield riding day (track day) but a separate 'handling' circuit, an area where they were getting paraplegic motorcyclists back riding bikes, an other area of rider training possibly IAM, Kawasaki team green tent, tyre services, racing services, burger van and of course toilets.
Mighty impressive for an active operational airfield that caters for the UK chinook fleet.

£20 to join for the year and events (trackdays and others) are either subsidised or heavily discounted.
Trackdays on the airfield are £60 and whilst its not Donnington. its still tarmac, still got marshalls, ambulances, medical centre on site and its ten miles from home and 1 mile from work.
Bargain. And its free to get in!

Had a good chat with a few there and one of the committee. They were enthusiastic about any members joining and whilst i really only saw modern bikes there were others and they said mine wouldnt be a problem and encouraged me to get involved. Cant ask for more than that can you.
They do have noise testing and that is where i thought i might fall down but apparently its 105dB so i will just creep in on that.

They operate the three group system so i will do the novice group as i dont want to become a rolling roadblock, besides i have only done two days so far so its the right place to be.

This might give some idea of the circuit, landscape, and surface.

Next ARD is Saturday 27th July. Will see if i can get that one done as they are never fully booked for airfield days unlike their two day weekend in August at Cadwell Park which is reserve list only now.
