Now the Thou has gone, and given my abject failure to source a Shed, I wanted something to fiddle with over the Winter, wasn't really looking for another oil burner but this quite rare 1972 (73 model) H1D came up on the bay at the right price, so I pulled the trigger.

Bike is an old resto which was a decent job, but has suffered from years of inactivity in various garages, so needs some fettling here and there. Also given she's a rarer Euro model I want to replace all the wrong Yank stuff. Then it'll be a good strip and detail to give her her bling back.

Took her for a run today and was VERY impressed with how quick she is, at 5K the front wheel lifted with ease. Sadly the same can't be said for the front brake which wouldn't stop an empty toddlers pram, Not helped by a NOS front disc which has a new shine even I'd be proud of.

Pic is a little flattering, but overall very happy.

If only it would have been £50 cheaper :(

I'm getting the urge for another trip to see Richie and having him change mine to the other D-model colour

Garry you're a feckin nightmare mate .
One thing for sure though , that H1 will be a far more smarter thing when you sell it than now , as is your eye for detail :up

Greetings Geoff. Trust you are Well?.

Had agreed to buy a Shed, Seen all the pic's, had chapter and verse from the seller, so the deal was done. Van was hired, filled with fuel and driven 200 miles to collect my next Zed.

Sadly the term 'Not as described' was the understatement of the year once I was stood in front of the bike, so I walked away (or Run more like).
