Sold me last W650 to fund the purchase of a LeMans, which I also sold earlier this year  The Lemon was okay but not really my sort of machine:

The W650 is a really sweet little bike and I miss her :(

After hunting around for a while I finally found a cheap (first model) W650, at a dealers of all places, and have bought it via t'internet..... it even had a topbox fitted, it's bog standard and was owned by an old chap - even older than me!

Image

It's a 1 x owner bike with 11,000 miles, but has spent some time outside and it needs some tlc  I'm not gonna keep this one standard so it's just what I want.

To get a good deal with it delivered, I told the dealer I was in no rush, so long as I got it before Nov - big mistake as I'm eager to get me hands on it now but not bad for £2500

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :grr

The dealer brought my W650 over this afternoon (3hr drive from Henfield, Sussex).

I only paid £2500, so didn't expect a minter - photo's always make them look better

He wheeled it out of the van - :?? Scruffy as feck, but cosmetics not a priority in this case. He said it rides and runs great,

Started it up (has a new battery) and it was a bit noisy - as in ticking and tapping :!: Ran pretty lumpy for first couple of minutes - not much fuel in tank and been sitting around for yonks. I put in half a can of fresh fuel.

Took it for a spin around the block and it was a bit vague handling wise and spitting and farting :| He then jumped on it and proceeded to cane it up the road "to clear its throat"

I jumped back on it for another spin round the block - not happy! Left it running and sat it on the centre stand to check wheel alignment....... oil was dripping from engine.

Asked for a full refund - paid by Credit Card, luckily he agreed after offering to fix the leaks - Ha Ha feckin' Ha!

So now lumbered with a new s/s exhaust system I bought in anticipation of my new toy  Sometimes a bargain..... isn't :!:

That sucks mate, at least he agreed to refund you though. I am sure you will find something else to replace it over Winter.

Now my little W650 has settled in for a week or so, I've cleaned her up and fitted a new rear tyre (TT100)...... it took all morning as the BT45 was tubless (fitted with a tube) and had welded itself to the nice alloy rim :??

Anyhow, tyre now on but broke me pump, so the front one can wait a bit.

Also fitted some s/s pipes which look similar to standard, but are lighter and a bit crisper sound!

This is my second W and they are really sweet rides. Forget your Rex's, this is what you want for regular riding

Let me neighbour have a spin on her - he always nagged me for getting rid of me other one! Anyhow, he came back smiling and cursing me...... he now wants one, quote: "if that was a girl, I'd marry her"

Also fitted a Dyna coil (green) which should give an extra 1hp, along with the Denso Iridium plugs

Been tinkering & applying some lurve - fitted new set of TT100's, removed all the emissions & carb heater junk, also got the "flying hog" stickers off - weren't my doing originally!
