I know its been discussed before but if that was a zed and you restored it there would not be much left of the original bike, are the people that buy these bikes not bothered about what has had to be built/remanufactured. Its not a dig or having a go its a genuine question as I only know the Zed market. Or is it that rare it does not matter.

much much rarer than a zed, i believe it was the last or at least one of the last known out there somewhere, a real find. It has nothing to do with bubbles, bubbles are for plentiful bikes that are popular because of the owners age, these bikes have sold for the big money because of historic rarity.

They are so rare it does not matter.

For a steam engine to be considered a restoration and not a new build, they need only have a single brass handle from the original.

Broughs were rare and very expensive hand built Motorcycles produced in very Limited numbers and ridden by a National Hero (TE Lawrence).

The Z1 was a mass produced motorcycle built in big numbers and ridden by Dick Emery..... this may go some way to explaining the price difference.

I am probably some sort of heathen, but be it a Brough or the very first Z1 if it came to me in that state i would just weigh it in after taking if any useful parts off, after all it's just lumps of metal that were made as disposable items in the first place.

ive seen the pic of dick emerys z1 with the no plate on the front, what was the reg no ?

and how much fror a pound of carrots and what time is coronation street on tonight, oh yes, sorry, there was a topic wasnt there.
