Went and did it - got me a Mini.....
Maybe not a 100% "Classic Car" as it's a 1983, but still ticks most of the boxes.
Heres the eBay descripton:
Very solid rust free body good floors and sub frames. Has a a small dent in the boot lid that I have tried to photograph but cannot be seen very well.
The head lights have been covered with a special vinyl this can be removed very quickly if needed.
Cooper 8 bar grill with bonnet straps.
The original wheels have been replaced with Dunlop reverse steel wheels in old English white.
They have been wrapped with Dunlop s p sport tyres. The standard wheels do come with the car.
Interior has been revamped with new door cards, dash panels,floor mats and cooper dash binicle with new gauges
It has a excellent CD player with two 6-9 speakers mounted in a speaker board under the rear seat.
New Spax adjustable coil suspension.
The engine has been over-sized to 1050 with a reground crank new big end bearings, mains and new pistons
A 1275 unleaded cylinder head with roller lifters, new exhaust valves and new valve guides has been fitted .
Fitted with a 266 kent cam, new cam bearings, high performance cam followers new oil pump. new timing chain and gears.
Brand new HIF 38 carb with pollished alloy inlet manifold and K/N air filter.
New distributor with electronic ignition and high power dry coil.
New high amp alternator- new starter solenoid.
Single box sports exhaust with twin branch headers.
The engine was built by Spamspeed Motor Sport in Stroud I have pictures and receipts. Have dyno readout of 59bhp at wheels.
The gearbox has been reconditioned by Minispeed in Surrey. With all new bearings new bulk rings new lay shaft competition diff pin- rebuilt diff, center oil pickup, re shimmed drop gears, all new gaskets and oil seals. Lightened flywheel and new clutch and slave cylinder. Fitted with a new mini sport quick shift gear change.
New 3 core radiator, mini spares evolution water pump ,silicone top and bottom hose. New heater valve.
New master cylinders.
New hand brake cable has just been fitted.
Have loads of paper work invoices ect.
I know its pretty accurate, coz I work with his brother & had weekly updates as he was building it (owner is a mechanic). Picking it up next Saturday..... and Mrs P loves it
