Truly fantastic Issigonis Design, Completely ruined by BMC/BL/Rover build quality.

Cool, my mate had a few old minis on his dads farm when we were at college, an old 1963/64 was his daily runner. He was about 6'4" and could lift the rear end round to get it into even tighter spaces. First car I drove actually. Great fun. I remember it had huge dials and a pull cord to open the door, possibly manual wipers as well if I remember rightly. He built a mini van with an mg metro engine in there, it used to thrash our mates Saxo VTR on country roads.

If you want anything let m,e know as the wife is going back to Blighty for a Christening! FFS a Christening don't get me started

Many years ago i had a 1968 one with the slide opening windows and the cord door handles, i got it for economic reasons and hated it, too much like a go-kart, got shot of it smartish and bought a 2.0E mk 3 tincorna and stuck a 2.8 lump into it.
Still though Mark if nothing else they look the part.

Whatever your thoughts about them - I think most of us had or drove one when young!

I've had a few over the years...... my first one was an orange Mini 850 Van. It was a pile of pooh, but I only paid £35 + a Scalextric set; but it cost me best part of another £200 for an MOT (subframe!)

Only gonna be used for fun & sunny days out, so ideal little toy.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
