Recently stripped the XS down to tidy up and done nothing until yesterday when I cleaned the frame and rubbed it down, this is going to be just a tidy up and nothing more using as many of the original parts without restoring them, if I fully restored it I would not use it, today the frame and swing arm got shiny new paint.

That is looking good.

First part of re-assembly new tapered rollers in headstock, new needle rollers in swing arm, went to clean rear shocks only to find they are both totally foobarred whoever gave it an MOT prior to my buying it needs striking off, new ones on order from wemoto, still it's in the spare room now to help harden the paint off quicker much to the disappointment of the woife, that's where I do the ironing she said, to which I replied it's a little more cosy now.

Had she not finished the ironing then? Slacker!

As the geography of where I live dictates that when it comes to moving certain things about you need more than is available I improvised this today, it means I can move it outside to clean it and wash down, and if I need to get underneath I can tilt the contraption back and pivot the engine as well, when finished with I can convert it straight back to a wheelbarrow or build the worlds fastest.

Coming along very nicely indeed.

Kev, you might want to think about putting some brakes on that barrow

You are not wrong there Warren, I certainly needed brakes this afternoon when took out the garage for its wash down probably the first real clean for almost 40 years, it's the best it will get, I ended up like a drowned rat and getting it back up the slope was bloody hard.

I looked inside the top end today, something I had been dreading because the yanks have made it sound so difficult, mainly looking for the chain guide that starts as one piece and ends up as two, well as it happens I had the two piece in there and luckily I had bought a new one from heiden tuning, what a piece off cake this motor is took an hour to strip top end replace the guide and put it back together ready for torque down, only took the one picture though and that's of the two piece guide.

Well today I bought the frame down from the spare bedroom put the light brackets, handlebars and front wheel on, free standing now, hopefully next week i will get the motor in with a little help.

Decided not to wait until the weekend to put the motor in so I laid the frame over it like we do with the Zeds, the motor is a few stone lighter than the thou motor and much easier to get off the bench and position on the padded up floor, so it was quite easy one scratch on the inside of one front down tube already touched in, also put the brake pedal on as the return spring is awkward to get too when other bits are bolted on, will start doing small bits more regularly now the big lumps are done.
Thanks for the offer of help Warren, already had my brother on standby but I managed easily enough, though he will moan at me for lugging the motor off the bench on my own.
