I know the following pics are likely to offend some of the more sensitive members, but I must fess up, that last winter I bought a very scabby looking CBX Prolink as a project.

Got her from a Vet in Ireland: I reckon she (yes t'was a Lady owner) should have "put her to sleep", as she was in a hell of a state: been left for years in an out building under a horse blanket (I kid you not), and to make it worse it was next to the coast - all that lovely salt air !

Can't believe people just let bikes sit and rot (even a Hounder); but after a lot of graft I reckon that even with one or two little marks, she looks as near original as I could get her.
I know its a Hounder, and to many will be somewhat aesthetically challenged: but I do love the engine on this bike.

Nice job well done,the problem you have now is deciding which bike to ride,mind you that's a nice position to be in

I love the CBX, but I prefer the twin shock pre pro link models.

Did you sniff, lick or slide on the seat naked BEFORE you restored it????

Didn't take many pics when I first got her: it was too depressing: but here's a couple of the engine and clocks. The rest of the bike was about in the same state, but the engine was a runner and mechanically very sound: although the valve clearance and carbs needed some attention.

Re Engine: I lightly soda blasted and rubbed down any stubborn bits, and used "rattle can" PJ1 Satin Black Engine Paint.
I had read mixed reports re PJ1 (some good - some bad); but I'm fairly pleased with how it tuned out; just wish it had a little more sheen to it.

Ive used the pj1 engine paint with good results too, however ive had better results with halfords engine enamel, even though its a brush on job, you can get it on thick and with no brush marks,, but you bike is looking stunning.

Nice Tim don't be ashamed to come to a meet on her next year.
