Alec Bennetts of Southampton

For us guy of Southampton and anyone who remembers Alec Bennett motorcycle shop of Southampton, I believe started his motorcycle business in the 1930"s, I do know a guy Who worked for them in 1940, on the military bike"s , they had to service etc.. I have been looking for ages for a photo of the shop, and came across this one, the only one I have found so far, looks to be around late 50"s early 60"s judging by the cars...

Used to go there occasionally - but more often than not popped over to the breakers down the road :wink:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

I bought a Suzuki GT750 from them, VHO 900R in 1978. Shocking after sales!

Did you take it home in carrier bags :lol:



Most of my bikes were "kept on the road" thanks to places like that back in the late 70's :shock: Also SOUTHERN BIKE SPARES in Gosport, down Elsen way I think - then in the Fareham High Street in the 90's :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
