I must be getting old.

I bought this bike off ebay a couple of months ago because it was listed badly and seemed a bargain. It had no history and wasnt on the road. After some electrical and mechanical sorting its now fully sorted and passed its mot last week.
Its a BSA M21 and its 10 years older than me. 600 cc sidevalve single engine pulls like a train and does 55mph flat out  It had sidecar gearing when I got it and is probably the most comfortable bike I have ever rode with its big sprung saddle and low seat height.
I have rebuilt the carb, magdyno, primary gears, sorted the timing and brakes, cleaned the rust out of the tank and changed the fluids.

Its a lovely old thumper which is great for pottering about on at weekends and will be used to ride to work in the summer if we ever get one. Just about everything is easily available for bikes like this and its incredibly simple to work on even though none of my spanners fit anything !!! Its very original down to even the old rubber case Lucas battery which expired many years ago and the original chrome on the rims. :gom
And just incase anyone thinks that I may have lost the plot, here is some of my other stuff.....

Nice one Steve, I always wanted one of those. Had a chance at a couple but thought they were a bit overpriced. Turned one down in the mid eighties at £100. Wish I'd bought it now.
Would those pics be up on Barr Beacon ?

Yes, pictures taken on Barr Beacon yesterday.
The prices of even the mundane British stuff have gone mad in the last few years.
Bought this project at Stafford last week and it was a bargain. Rebuilt engine and gearbox. New paint and wheels. All powder coated gloss black with a load of bills for work done. Should be nice when its finished. All the expensive stuff has been done. Just a few bits missing and needs wiring.

Mrs zed said, why do you need so many bikes? I say (you know what's coming) why so many shoes then? hummmmmmm she said.

I think all of the pre unit singles are very similar. The B31 shares the same bottom end and is probably a better bet than the sidevalve.
Its starting to grow on me now though. The first time I rode it I thought to myself.... " "why the fcuk did I buy this"   as its a bit slower away from the lights than a H2. I have also given up trying to change gear with the brake lever now
