A big 'oops' indeed Mick :?: But these [electrical] things are there to try our patience.
Will be worth it in the end though.
(Spent more hours than is healthy on the wiring up of my Bullet recently, and, today, after a 9 month wait......and lots of kicking due to a sticky float valve....success.. :grup :hoo :...Will put some stuff up later).

this is the seat ive had in mind for a while, there is a guy down the road who changed the foam content of my existing seat and recovered it and is top notch, im going to make up a base and have him foam and cover it, i think i will need an extra pad for long runs, this last weekend i did 300 miles and my arse would have been numb if id used a flat seat for that. so i will most likely get him to contour an extra piece for longer trips. That looks very smart, especially for an MT.
You may want to enquire about a Gel based pad, like a honeycombed effect. I've seen them at shows, shaped to fit most saddles. Round single sprung type or flat like yours, strap or Velcro on.
Gordon May, the author of Bullet books, Overland to India and Overland to Egypt, has ben selling them for some time.

result!
I was recommissioning a radar system in Shetland, my young mechanic wanted to turn it on. I said yes no problem.
He brought the system up to standby and asked to turn it fully on....... he pressed the button and there was one almighty explosion

The repair and cleanup costs were about 3/4 million £

water had ingressed into pulse transformer which converted 10Kv to 40Kv 250 times per second, the water boiled exploding the transformer.....

slow or what  ive been away for 2 weeks so its been under cover. ive got the cone air filter and oil breather filter to fit so will then have the lovely space under the seat. only have weekends for the next 3 months and the next two are full already so i admit to a certain amount of "side lining the bike" :rock

yeah, so the bike stood still for a few months while i converted houses for people and had a mate stay every weekend for 2 months so my tiime was full. The mot ran out early october, i decided that as ive finished work for a couple of weeks i would get the mot sorted then i could ride the thing again so may get some more work done on it. As i started it up i found some electrical problems ( hate electrics on houses and bikes) so i left it with my local bike shop and theyre sorting it before they close on wednesday. It was great to ride it again and the rear brake freed up on the way to the shop. time to carry on with some jobs on it.

got it back yesterday, mot'd for 12 months. £40 + cost of mot not bad, glad i left it to them now and took the weekend of. anyway, i will get something done on it next week, im off work until 4th jan. recently ive gone onto a 4 day week so hopefully i will have more time for fun projects from now on.
seat wise im thinking of making the base out of a piece of ply and laminating it with fibreglass like a surfboard, this would be strong and waterproof.
