picked my 5 3/4 inch headlamp up today, have a look at fitting it this next week because im working at home :hur2

Piggy, much apologies, i wont be using the ears, bottom mounted seems to be the way to go. I f you pm me your address i will pop them back to you, maybe even a few cornish biscuits in there too

Certainly different. They rode away together, you can just imagine the Z900 and this side by side. I did not get my camera out in time though!

PS, Bates type headlamp. Very nice too.

PPS, another shot I missed on Sunday, a CX Caf' Racer?
That engine will never look as pretty as the Guzzi though.
Much keep my camera around my neck in future...

well i got the rack system stripped off and indicators removed, looking better already.Image

im going to pick up some aluminium plate this week to make a couple of side panels, i can use the lugs from the existing panels. im making some sort of bracket for the bottom mounted headlamp to fix to the bottom yoke and ive got to work out what to make for the rear to replace the huge mudgaurd.

one thing ive got the look up is the battery eliminator, seems its easy enough on this bike.

This bit will be interesting? Advantage; rear frame in place, good for a replacement tail-light/bracket/plate.
Shame to lose that pipe, Custom built job I assume you'll go for.
Good simple bike to mess with, same as the Bullet really.

just ordered one of these jobbies, seems mad to
bother with a battery if this works, i will need to check
whether it makes starting her up harder but hopefully not.

Mick, I have a couple of 15000 m/f ballast type resistors - got them off eBay a few years back.... they work a treat

The Boyer POWERBOX is another good unit, bit pricier, but allows you to run lights & stuff nicely... got one on me Trumpet & it's done OK for last 5 years

Back to the headlight fitting - I got a small bracket welded under the bottom yoke - sorted!

thats pretty much what i have in mind but luckily enough
for me on removing the indicators i found they were fixed
on via a bracket under the yoke, i will just make something
up from alloy that can bolt straight in.

on the eliminator Piggy, im completely lost with electrics, even
as a builder i shy away, i phoned Rex's to ask if it would work
on the mt and they said plug and play, i did know that these mt's
run ok without a battery but that was all i knew.

ps, would love an alloy tank, if the bike works as a tracker i may
concider having one made up.

ive just connected this eliminator up to the mt and it starts and everything works, but before i wire it in properly i thought i would ask if all the wires connected to the respective + and - terminals need to be connected tp the relevant eliminator wire.
just to be on the safe side because i hate electrics.

Looking good Mick. Sounds like a handy little device. I met the chap from Rex's Speedshop the other weekend. Sells some nice mods.
And I sympathize with your fear of electrics. Can be so time consuming for us amateurs....

yes i spoke to him the other day, seemed pleasant to me. i dont know why i can grasp electrics, even as a builder i hate it when i pull i light switch and there are blumin wires everywhere, ive had an electrician do a full diagram on a wall for me, explaining how it all works, but i was lost after the first switch  just as well im not allowed to do much lecky work on jobs these days :up
