Nice bit of vid
D-Day arrived.... not only was there the Lunar eclipse to make it a day to remember, I finally picked up my Le Mans MkII.
It was my first ever ride on a V-Twin Shafty, so I was a bit on edge as I'd come across a few warnings about the torque reaction and rear end rising
But to my relief, it was nothing to sweat about. Yes, i did notice a bit of "twisting" from the beasty when at a stand still and the revs started dropping real low and I blipped the throttle, but it was nowt too bad.
My ride home was through the country back roads of Dorset and I LOVED every minute of it. The brakes work fairly well and the handling and ride are great. I didn't go too mad as it's shod with new Avon RoadRiders and they need scrubbing in, but the bike is steady as a rock.
When I got home (an hour later) I did have one issue.... oil over my left boot.
Luckily I have a good mate with a 1960's V7 and he had a similar experience when he collected his bike, so he told me to check the oil level. The dipstick showed it was above the MAX mark! SO I drained a few cupfuls out... and it was still showing FULL Shocked
In the end I drained 1.5 ltrs out and it now reads midway on the dipper. No wonder it was spewing it out of the dipstick tube area.
I've given the bike a quick wash & polish and she looks good - to say I'm well chuffed is an understatement.
She's no spring chicken, but a tidy rider, sure enough

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
