Replace the rubbers between carbs and head if they are at all cracked whilst you have it apart. They are specific to the SP but cost a fortune. Had to do mine but it made a huge difference to the bike.

Bit of an update, carbs stripped and ultrasonically cleaned, fuel pump assembly ordered and on its way from Blighty, just the tank to clean and then put everything back together and start her up :P

Can't wait to hear her!

That's nice Kev, looking forward to having a go of mine, she's supposed to sound really nice!

Went to order a couple of oil filters today and my local dealer didn't have any and Yamaha Australia also didn't have them, would have bee three weeks lead time! That's the one thing that bugs me about this place is no bugger carry's stock!

Got the YZF going on Saturday and it does sound amazing, dropped the oil the other day and filled if some from work to flush the engine out. Just got a couple of oil filters from the UK so I'll drop it again and put good stuff in and a new filter. My mates coming round tomorrow night to give me a safety cert (MOT) Then I just need to get some new rubber, rego her and away we go!

Really happy with the bike, lovely bit of kit and probably wasted on me as I am Captain slow

I'll give it a go Kev, took it for a quick spin round the block last weekend and was very surprised, the rear sprocket has been changed so quite nice to ride!

Passed its MOT last night, also changed the oil and filter and took the front brake light switch off, squirted it with WD40 which got it working then put it back one. Buttoned her up and will rego her today, new tyres next weekend and she's ready to go, all in all I think she'll owe me $6K which is a shit load of money in pounds now
