Then the fun started when I decided to have a ride on it and it handled realy badly. I found the cause to be a very loose back wheel
To cut a long story short I ended up replacing most of the engine and fitting a clutch that worked and putting right so many bodges that I lost count.
Four helicoils needed in the head ? A new clutch pushrod instead of an old piece of bar filed round ? Wrong number and type of clutch plates ? Wrong pistons ? Teeth broken on kickstart pinion ? Valves and guides shot and piston rings cracked meaning a rebore needed....big ends shot...speedo shot.......
Any way £1500+ and 100s of hours later this is the result. I have done about 200 miles on it now and it rides fantasic
