Thanks, yes, it could be the oil from the rings/hone. The air filter looks a bit suspect.

Passed it's MOT first time and out on the road. Rides lovely but revs feel slow to rise. Hard to explain but feels similar to retarded ignition timing. Plugs are soot black. I had a regular 'R' in the same colours. Best front end on anything I've ridden since including my 06 R1.
I needed to do some work on the paint and the white was a bitch to match (it's a 3 stage pearl with a bit of blue in it).

Great story. Mine also served as a despatch hack. It tried to kill me many times and I suppose that's why I kept it (like kidney stones in a jar on the mantelpiece).

Spraymax aerosol 2K clear over black base. I don't even bother loading the gun nowadays as this stuff is amazing.

Managed to pick up a NOS front guard on German Ebay. Oil came out piss thin. It's a 10/40 semi-synth and I seem to remember it didn't like that weight 20yrs ago but that could just be my memory being convenient.
