z1000j2 1983 battery not holding charge
went out to shed and checked new battery now at 12.5 was 13.3/13.4 when fully charged yesterday. Bike managed to start but when meter attached to both pos and neg terminals and revving bike to 3 k its going up very slightly (12.8) but not above 13 Does this mean the rec/regulator is fooked ? thought...

Guys Drove the elr to mot last week started no bother and ran there no issues 15 miles. Problem was when i left mot test centre, bike struggled to start and tick over without conking out. Guys got a metmachex swinger (not pinchbolt jmc type) with spindle and 2 8mm bolts either side any idea where i can find an idiots guide to adjusting the chain. first bike with this type of adjuster. hi mate yep just about there with it feckin dam carbs. Sore neck and back lying under bike. Got all the jets etc out and ultrasonically cleaned. had to clean out air box and filter as well, 2 small insects in the airbox and some cobwebs bloody hell. cuda got into carbs.
