Hi,
Does anyone out there have a Takasago 303 rear rim they'd be willing to sell for a Z1B I'm restoring? Date code of 1975 is what I'm really after.
Cheers.

Z900 / Z1 Barrels or liners.
Hi. Anyone out there got a set of Z900 / Z1 barrels on standard bores. Not overly concerned about the condition of the fins etc as at a push I can use the liners in my existing barrels. That being the case, a set of liners would also do the job. Mine are already 1mm over and scored which I'm led to ...

Kawasaki Z1 barrels.
I have recently purchased two 903cc barrels, one of which I will use when I have an engine rebuild later this year. one of the barrels looks to be the same as the one I have on my Z1A with the fins being approximately 2mm thick. The other has fins which are much thinner, approximately 1mm thick and ...

Z1A/B Z900 Z1000 Engine.
Hi there,
I'm after a Z1A/B Z900 Z1000 engine to be used for possible spare parts when the engine in my Z1A comes out for rebuild around November this year. I'm told that if it's a Z1000 engine, I need a pre MK2 engine with the small taper crank so that the parts are more compatible.
Cheers.

Z1A running rough.
Have forwarded my address to Zed1015 who was very helpful.
Does anyone know if the carb bodies on the GS1000S (see link to ebay item above) are the same as the Z1A carbs? Please excuse my ignorance. Also, any comments on the Z1A/B carbs for sale on the same website?

Thanks for clearing that up Steve. With regard to Big fluffs response, The Boyer ignition does use the centrifugal advance and retard mechanism and you are the second person to draw reference to the bob weights sticking. When the new ignition was fitted, the timing using the strobe seemed to be quit...

Compression on the cylinders was pretty well balanced at around 140-145psi. I'll get the cam timing checked again as well as the carb rubbers. There is a set of recon carbs on ebay at the minute but the float chambers look different. Mine have the hexagonal head drain plug directly at the bottom fac...

Needles and jets are new with the kits from Z power and so is the air filter. I set the float levels up and drained them off individually to check they had the same amounts in. According to the guy at the garage, the carbs are well balanced with gas analysis and temperature on each cylinder being re...

Z1A Running Rough
Hi there. This is my first time using the forum, as I've only recently joined after buying my dream bike, a 1974 Kawasaki Z1A. And herein lies the problem. The bike would not fire on all cylinders or tick over. After having the carbs ultrasonically cleaned and the fitting of repair kits, plus a new ...
