generator rotor

Due to a stupid accident i managed to bugger up my gpz 1100 a1 unitrac rotor.
A mate up in scotland has one off a kz1100 b1 1982 would this fit????
or does any one have one for sale???

Just popped head of and cant get a .006" thou feeler under any valves :shock: cam has a lot of water marks/ shims too so looks like a few bob to spend, but on the bright side bores are fine :D does anyone know where i can get new cam bearings from? also what is the valve clearance? Thanks Mick ...

Hi just after a bit of advice,
after starting my z1000 mk11 motor (thats been stood for ten years)
it smokes badly for a minute or so then clears,
the day after same again,

it runs fine, maybe stuck rings?
maybe inlet seals no good?

what do you think guys?

are these the same carbs as the mk11 then and do you measure from the gasket face to the top of the actual float, mine all measure 24?

sometimes a larger bore requires smaller jets, all things being equal cams valve sizes.etc because in effect you have fitted a larger pump thats pulling harder on the jets, does that make sense? also i would have it dynoed before spending money on new bores/pistons as you will still have the same pr...

First thing to do is balance em using adjustment between carbs.
An old trick i was shown was to hold a piece of tube to your ear and the other end in the carb mouth (with engine running) even a slight difference is very noticable, get them all sounding same,
see how she runs then.

Z1000 mk11 reg/rec

Hi folks im in need of advice, i am looking for a reg/rec for my engine, didnt come with one. Ive got one off a Z750r and one from a gpz 1100 a1, would one of these do or,
Is there another type which will fit (superdream etc.)

thanks for the info, dont know what year they are off, am mostly wanting to change the rocker cover (which is i think a quite late one as it has a cast radius line above were the seal goes) anyway thanks again. Mick.
