Thanks a lot for all the advice guys. I must admit the more I've read here the more I wish I'd left my bike at 903cc! Mind you, the extra ccs have been fun. If you think it's possible for me to carry on using my 903cc piston ring compressor then that's what I'm going to try. If it doesn't work out t...

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I prefer the biscuit tin technique to the fingers and screwdrivers though!

Many thanks for replying.

Z900/Z1000 piston ring compressors - Is there a difference?

Good evening all, I can feel this is a stupid question even as I'm typing it out, but I have to ask anyway... I love you!

Ahem, I mean thank you very much.

I was being sidetracked by the lines etched onto the plastic coating of the sprocket. After I lined up the cam with the slot pointing out I noticed the small arrow etched into the metal of the sprocket itself.

Many many thanks,

Stuart

Hi, Thanks for the advice, and thanks for replying. What I'm trying to get my head round, is that there are two marks on the camshaft sprocket at 180 degrees to each other, so you could conceivably put the camshaft in 180 degrees out. When I did the cams on my Z1000 A1 there was an arrow on the exha...

Camshaft Timing - Which way is up?

Good morning all, I'm hoping somebody has time to answer a numpty question about the cams on my Z1B. I took the cams out to replace the head gasket, but now I'm ready to put the cams back in I can't work out which way up the exhaust cam goes. The inlet cam has the 28th pin mark at the top, but I can...
