Minor Engineering Job

Anyone know of an engineer in North / Central Birmingham who can do a small machining job for me?

I just need the rear axle cross-drilling for a split pin.

Kev there are two tiny holes in the master cylinder, make sure these are clear, think one is called a relief hole. A very fine piece of wire should open up the hole, which is probably full of shite......had the same problem on my A2. Scotts correct ! Theres 2 tiny holes . 1 down stream of the the P...

Dresda Swing Arm

I've got a Dresda swing arm to suit Z900 / Z1000. In good condition. I can email pictures if needed. It comes complete with bearings and adjusters. It was made for the drum-braked model as the torque arm mount is on the bottom. I've had professionally welded another torque mount on the top so it can...

My CMAs use a circlip on one side of the hub as a bearing stop. Fit the bearing on that side first. The axle tube / bearing spacer then dictates how far the bearing goes in the other side. Watch when you are drifting the bearings out that you aren't hammering against the circlip else you could damag...

Gorillas and the mist

Has anyone here followed the old adage 'ain't no substitute for cubes' and fitted an MTC Gorilla block and pistons?

How did it work out? Reliable, worthwhile tuning or more trouble than it was worth?

Hmmm A while ago, I heard about this service and took my Arai to my local Arai dealer as recommended on the website. They took one look at the chinstrap and told me that it had frayed because of owner misuse but offered to change it at my expense - £120 but my helmet would be away for a fortnight (...

bit of an update to this. I'm putting a 13 row cooler on my Z1R and bought one with the 'standard bracket. Yes it was too low and fouled the tacho cable. I've made a plate with a 50mm offset to shift the cooler up by 50mm from the existing holes. Works a treat and hidden by the cooler so you don't ...

Took the 5 spoke CMAs into Wheelhouse Tyres today for a set of new boots and the CMA rim profile is one that definitely needs tubes.

So new tubes and Avon AM26's for the very odd sizes of 140/70 x 18 and 100/90 x 18.

Great thanks

I'd prefer tubeless as its less unsprung weight and less likely to instantly deflate with a puncture.
