Mines is same as 1st picture, will try again tmorrow, chain seem tight, also.
as wen putting thin damper rubber on bottom. push idler down and chain is taught,,

tried both ways, narrow to bottom ,still fouls on cover,,

Weve just rebuilt the top end of my Z900. [ new chain and tensioners /guides /rollers ] the cam cover won"t sit down propper, seems to be riding on top idler. do i need thinner rubber mounts on idler, ? its about 5mm high.
or have i the wrong cover, ie; off different engine ..
