Thanks Paul, I got there in the end - . . . sprayed wd-40 into the stone guard/ fork lower joint and moved it back and forward on the locating point until it moved freely side to side (a tiny amount). Then I pushed up and in to centre on the protruding section of the guard - and it gave up its grip ...

ZRX Fork Seal/ Stone Protector - How Does It Come Off ???
Calling any ZRX owner or Kawasaki mechanic out there - I want to repaint my ZRX fork lowers. Came to peel back the dust seal/ stone chip protector and it looks pretty solid. I can see one engagement tag between the hard plastic outer stone chip protector and the inner rubber which is touching the fo...

Underside shot shows a long dent on one side from scraping. Side heat shields both missing. silencer would need swapping for a new one IMHO It's worth what he can get but I would not go more than £600 for what is usable there. You can factor another 500 for the new silencer/ bracket/clamp and a goo...

I would want to see pics of the underside of that power chamber (collector box) and down pipes before making any offers. That part is most likely to have attracted damage from scrapes and poor jacking dents. Seller has taken loads of similar shots but none of the underneath. I am a bit suspect on th...

Main stand for Z1-R D1 1978 is different to the normal Z1/Z900 stand. Reason being it was never fitted with left hand silencer - so the foot lever is shorter to tuck in and look right. If you fit one of the standard or repro ones avail the foot lever will stick out too far due to the missing silence...

Yes I get that Paul, . . . but just found it strange that the elongated hole is way bigger than the small circular hole in the gasket. It is elongated the same shape on block and head so I was puzzled why the gasket would act as a restrictor to the flow. General rule I thought was increased flow = b...

ZRX Head Gasket - External Tags & Hole Shapes vs. Block
Hello All, I have just got a factory head gasket and it looks a bit different to what was fitted. Part code is 11004-1377 Plus some of the holes in both old & new are smaller in the gasket than they are in the block and head. Here they are - http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz82/pertonpc/Kawas...

Thanks Will, Perhaps you will post a link to the one you end up choosing and give us a pic or review of how it performs. I have the new chain landing today but I won't be fitting it for a few weeks and haven't ordered the tool yet. I am very aware of the need to roll the pin ends over on the split l...

Ok Thanks.
What does the damper mount onto?
All the screen diamonds look similar on this pic -

presume you would just stick it on the central diamond as it is a sole damper??
