Right, some progress. Again, thanks to Paul Scanlon for his efforts. We really are getting down to the finer details of the bike now. The bike now had the correct forks, and the clocks have been refurbished thank to Al Marshall. Its time for an MOT and road test before it comes home and I can finall...

Lovely bike Ed. Regarding vacuum gauge fittings. Up to engine number Z1E-01000, vacuum take offs were a press fit into the head held in with a chemical bond product (which were all replaced with screw thread fittings by dealers). I don't normally pick holes in peoples hard graft, but since you say you want perfection.......your ignition switch is wrong (shouldn't have the cover over where the key enters). What a great refurbishment Ed! Is she an early 72 Zed or after the first 2200? Cheers! Steve The engine numbver and frame number are 1 either side of the 2200 Early enough for the early paint and early head possibly, does she have the vacuum ports in the head?
