Z900 air box

Anyone got a Z900 air box I can buy. Alternatively I've got a Z1 air box on my bike at the moment so happy to do a straight swap and pay any difference if need be. Thanks

THanks for the advice chaps. Problem sorted. When I started this project three years ago I promised myself that I'd only use nos or refurbed parts where poss. I've just fitted a bed spring as a replacement for the carb return as the original was too weak. Works a treat. Finally got my mot at 1730 wh...

Throttle return

Just failed an mot due to throttle not returning quick enough. Made what I thought to be the appropriate adjustments to the cables and when the engines off all works well. When the engines running the throttle is very slow in shutting back down. I,m absolutely at a loss. Anyone got any ideas?

The engine top end has been rebuilt by Mark Hutton. Don't think he touched the backing plate though. I'll leave as is. Thanks for the advice chaps, excellent as usual.

Coil connections help

Having just rebuilt a z900 I finally got it running last night. It turns out that I'd plugged the coils into the wrong wires from the points. The books are telling me that the points on the left hand side feed cylinders 1&4 and the right side 2&3. Mine is the opposite of this, as in left sid...

I'll be there Guy. Wheels back this week. Just need to sort the wiring out. Funny how the new loom matches the old one exactly yet none of it fits (well it does really i'm just a complete arse on the wiring front). Anyway, hoping to get there on the bike just to prove it does actually exist.

Problem finally solved. It seems that the carbs on my Z900A4 are actually off a Z1000A2. The carbs have been refurbed and the appropriate jets and needles have been fitted (Thanks Mike, top job). I've waited 30 + years to ride my own Z and i've just done it this evening. Unbelievable feeling. I'd fo...

Thanks for the advice chaps, i'm slowly eliminating the potential causes. Just discovered the needle jets are for a Z1R (according to clymer). The carbs are 28mm (if they are measured from within the throat). I suppose that suggests Z1A,B carbs with Z1R needles. Based on that info (if i'm right of c...
