Good on yer mate, I had one back in 1985 ish and did some serious miles on it. Lc 's used to usually used to fly past but the 400J looked and sounded like a proper bike. Not many left in the UK now.

Just been reading through the progress. The working out and machining is a master piece. Well done with all the patience , the yam brakes really work well, I've put them on a few bikes now as an upgrade including a Z1000J. keep up the good work Zomerset Zed.

My tuned Gpz1100 has smoked a bit for the last 25 years especially on start up but doesn't use loads of oil so never bothered me. I've found 33mm CRS worked very well for the last 20 years on my gpz1170 with kent cams , gas flowed head, bigger valves etc, but now tried 37mm CR's which give abit more top end and midrange hasn't really changed. Experimenting with my old 33mm CR's on my Z1000J at the moment- pug colour about righ...
