Thanks guys, I did try Al, but he is not able to do H1 clocks at the moment. I believe different tooling is required.

clock restoration

Can anyone help.
I need to get a set of clocks, for a H1A 500 triple, stripped and cleaned.
Rik is out of the country at the moment and wondered if anyone else could do the job.
The clocks work o.k. but the inside of the glass is dirty & the faces could do with a gentle clean.

Thanks
Paul

Be aware, you cannot use durafix if the magnesium content is more than about 18%.

You would be better off using liquid metal or JB Autoweld if you are painting the casing after repair.

XT500

I was given an old XT500 when a customer of mine was clearing out his workshop. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk45/sjd500r/DSC000170.jpg After a bit of head scratching, a bit of time on e-bay and quite a bit of work, I ended up building this: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk45/sjd500r/P428...

I normally keep under 5,000 rpm for the first 50ish miles and avoid loading the engine in higher gears. Enough to bed the rings in and listen for any unhealthy noises. Then try and avoid full throttle for the first 100 or so miles, then check torque settings on the head. After that I just ride as no...

Baza,

Sorry to hear that mate, just assumed it was old age, no offence meant.

As for the knob thing....................it has, hence the 'Maralyn' handle. :(

Thanks Chris,

Had a chat with Pigford and pretty sure I know where my problem lies.

I think it is coil related, but if not I will give you a shout.

Thanks for the response.

kettle help. - Please ignore this post -

I know this is the Z1 forum, but I need some help with a GT750 two stroke triple, I won't say the 'S' word. To keep everyone happy I won't even discuss the problem other than to say it is performance related. If anyone has a knowledge of these and think they could help me solve a problem, please sen...

I would put new gaskets on as a matter of course, drain plug and float bowl.
I always rub vasaline into paper/fibre type gaskets, it stops them going hard and makes them easier to take off in the future with out them sticking to the surfaces.

I cannot confirm just yet, but put me down for a ticket either way.
I will get the £10 to you via Mikey, if that's o.k.
