Re-assembled just about everything, mounted battery, solenoid, reg/rectifier and made a simple loom. Motor now cranks over 'on the button'. Stripped it all apart, finished welding (or blobbing hot metal) on all the inaccessible bits, then gave it a couple of coats of hammerite Satin Black.

Probably get used at a couple of rallies, Lower Lode etc If I'd broken a perfectly good Zed for the motor, I could understand the outcry...
