Dont think our Iain owned an H2. Nope, it was a local guy who traded his Z1A for an H2 and then got into racing. That was over 25 years ago. I heard he recently bought a Z1B but apparently didnt know why......!!!!!

Z-Power are importing a load of PMC parts, perhaps a quick call to them. I agree with your need to check where the tubes should be fitted to ensure they dont foul exhaust/airboxs. Recall a guy who braced his Z1000A1 frame. Fitted tube across frame rails designed to miss standard pipes. Looked a grea...

Jimmer, I'd take the caliper off and see if the piston, (I'm assuming the caliper is the floating type with one pad secured to the caliper), is moving when you press the rear brake lever. Recompress and retry. It or the caliper float seals might be corroded and seized. You may need a seal repair kit...

Hi Mate Thanks for the info on the Z1000. I see the engine is the same model as my ZX9R excepting the injection system and slightly bigger bore. You'll notice that this site is more dedicated to the older air cooled models that Kawasaki produced between 1972-1986 ish. You might get some general advi...

The Taps should have a reserve. There should be a small moulded letter R on one side. If this is in the up position, its on reserve. Repair kit? I'm not sure. Try a dismantle, clean and re-assemble. Amazing the amount of ****e in there over the years. As for Mettisse try phoning instead of email.

If you're used to modern bikes and their very efficient brakes you need to mentally adapt your riding style perhaps when riding the older "classic" Zeds. But the J's shouldnt be that bad, If you really think the J's are bad, try a Z1 with one front disc, in the wet. Loads of folks up-grade to more m...

Very good Ash, but you're right. Amazing what you miss when your all set to get stuck in about it. I recall from a few years back (1981? jeez...?) me and a mate struggled to get my complete engine out and then noticed the clutch cable was still attached....what a fud....lol

Barrie, Yes. I'm about to do so on my Rickman. I had the head off it two years ago with no clearance issues. Slightly different fame of course but if anything mine was a bit tighter in clearances than the standard Zed. So you should be ok. Get some Gunk in a hand spay, douse the engine block and tak...

Pigford It might make a good magazine article to report not only on the methods of altering the running gear on your bike but providing an objective view on how this improves the handling. key word being objective or truthfull. Maybe take a lot of honesty particularly if it doesnt do much to the han...

Ok, I know our good friends at Z Power are very helpful chaps and offer a 10% discount for members, but ?45 for a pair of throttle cables is a bit steep. I dont mind using pattern types so does anybody know of a cheaper source? My bike is a 1973 model Z1. Are they longer than the A4 cables? Any view...

Unlucky with a puncture on the Zed this morning. New tube fitted but those rim security bolts were a bugger to refit. SO being a lazy git left them out. ooo my poor fingers...:( I know they are there to prevent the tyre creeping round the rim with possible tube rip at the valve entry, but are they r...
