Thanks Floyd - that's actually really helpful. Any suggestions on what to use to blank it off?

diaphragm/non diaphragm fuel tap

Gents, quick question - I'm finally getting around to fitting my new, repainted tank on the z650 after the pinhole debacle, and I'm discovering that my fuel tap doesn't fit - the fuel filter is in slightly the wrong place to go in the hole on the tank cleanly. I think this means that the new tank is...

It might be slow, but you have made a massive amount of progress - won't take long to finish those last few jobs off! Shocks look good!

Sorry guys - it took me a while to get the replacement tank (thanks buckle) dropped off. Some info for you - the painter was Altamura in camberley - they did Dr Rod's z900 as well. Lovely guys, brilliant work, but a bit slow. Basically when I dropped in a new tank they told me they'd sealed a whole ...

coldsummer, one word of warning - if there's any possibility there's a pinhole, seriously think about a new/different tank. I had mine sealed and 3 weeks after I put petrol in it the vapour pressure had created a huge blister in my lovely new paintwork.... http://www.z1ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtop...

Thats awesome. I was just wondering the other day what a 650 in black and silver would look like (Thinking about a second paintset) - now I know, and it looks great, but I need to come upwith something original now!

Some pictures from today. Highlights for me included zorded's modelling poses, russ living up to the image of the club by coming up with spares on the spot, redbeards bike suiting him more than any other bike on the planet possibly could.... Brilliant weather, well done Guy. http://i535.photobucket....

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=280354983982 as well - as it appears it MAY be dent free... :-) I'd always rather get one from a known source though! :-)
