I went on Sunday and was amazed to see two Z1's at a car show, didn't appreciate that they were for sale and the asking prices beggar belief. The cheaper one even had dents / scuffs in the exhausts and I thought looked uncared for and tatty. Wonder if they sold either of them..

Z1B Carbs - Plastic spigots

Hi Guys I have just had my carbs refurbished but am a bit confused about what pipes I should fit to the two male plastic spigots that are just above the metal main fuel spigots. What are they for, and where do I route the pipes that I would connect to them? Any help as always greatly appreciated I h...

Ah okay sounds easy. Probably no issue in this country but I ended up in a Spanish Guardia Civil Traffico office last year giving a statement as my scooter (sorry for swearing) had a plate with frame number on and it should have been stamped direct on the frame. It was picked up during ITV (MOT). If...

I agree with Neil, just get the frame re-stamped then its back to original and as it should be. Not sure of the benefit of a plate?

Compression Test

Hi all, I did a compression test on my standard Z1B after taking it for a nice run at the weekend. Even after the run the plugs were really sooty, its always run rich so I am hoping that the new electronic ignition followed by the carb overhaul may sort it out. That said the compression test was as ...

Looking like Dynatek need to order correct rotor in from the States so that's a poo. Not sure what 5/40 or 20/40 actually means but is it safe to run mine with the wrong one in the mean time as I did manage to static time it to the 1-4 'F' line?

Jon Done (nearly)

I bought the longer bolts and fixed the coils on today and it started a treat. Took if for a quick run around the block and seemed to rev more freely which is great. I then fitted the electronic ignition as I thought I would do ignition and coils as two separate jobs in case there were problems. Fit...

Hi Pigford

Yes that is one of the things I am concerned about. But apart from ensuring the low tension lead near the post is the earth wire so I am assuming it wont matter if it shorts, I could put some insulation tape around the post but neither seem an ideal solution to me?

New Z1B Front Brake Caliper

Hi All

Last two MOT's on the Z1B have mentioned front brake binding. I need the calliper complete overhaul inc sticker and repaint. Thing is should I just buy one of these new pattern ones or find someone to overhaul mine? Views appreciated on which way to go.
