Mine are still on the Z1R.

The guy who does my tyres has remarked they can be a bit of a faff to fit!

Never ran them without so cannot comment on suitability.

It does look great. -Twin discs is a bonus too.

I would be tempted to go a stage further and fit z1b side panel badges.

Watching with interest - I have always liked the Z1B - one of the best paint schemes on any bike.

Good luck!

Yes mine did exactly what Pauljac says - around 1990 when the unit was, I suppose around 12 years old. After a run out, the battery had boiled dry and was too hot to handle. With adverse affect on Chrome exhaust! Acquired a modern replacement in since then & everything ok - I think I got the rep...

I am a bit of a traditionalist with the batteries I use on the old z's. This is because I have bought the same type - 6 cell that you can top up like came with the bike originally- now for over 35 years - and never had a battery stranded me & let me down. When they are on their way out they simp...

Not sure what bike we are talking but I would have said 7k for a bike tyre is not bad.

I am currently using Bridgestone, but my findings are (certainly for Z1R) Metzelers give best overall performance and are excellent for handling and grip.

I had a C1 for about 5 years and it is an excellent piece of kit and Very Fast Indeed. Kawasaki brought it out about 5 years too late as the earlier B models could not compete with the fireblade and are not quite the ticket. I dropped the front fork height by about 10mm on mine and this seemed to he...

The wheels are fantastic - I need to try something similar with mine.
So the tool you used was just a giant tooth brush - Is it merely hand held? - ie not an electric giant tooth brush

I suspect the main factors here are patience and elbow grease

Well done anyhow - great results

That 500 is a beauty

I had a 400 from new in 1979 and I thought that was quite fast so the 500 must be fantastic.

I must admit there are times I could be tempted back to the dark side!

Calipers and torque arm should be easy to find as they come up on Ebay fairly regular Caliper here for instance http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-Z1000-Z-1000-A-Series-Rear-Back-Brake-Braking-Caliper-/311696549643?hash=item48928fe70b:g:P4AAAOSwLF1X2tM3 The rest might take a bit longer to track down
