Thanks for comments guys. Re the clocks, boy that took some time, although I have a vice I decided that hold the clock in one hand and between my needs whilst kneeling down, just in case I squashed it in the vice. As vduk said in his thread a good quality screw driver and working from the bottom car...

After the past 4 years of being neglected I have spent the last 5 Saturdays taking apart my Z1000.
