BMAD Paignton

Hey Jules I was there on my A2 on Sat afternoon. How is the R2 ?
I thought I might catch you at Teignmouth bike night but won't be around for a few weeks as I'm off to the Isle of Man. Getting a bit excited about that.

Manx

Just got back from the Manx. Bumped into Ralph and Marion at the grandstand and Ralph had just had a telling off from the police ! :)
I saw an immaculate H1 a few times - must have been yours Malc.

Trying to get my z1000a2 on the road before summer is over and the rear brake master cylinder has died. Anyone got one they could sell to me ?

Hi Ralph

Save me a ticket. I will be coming up on the Friday but have to leave late Saturday afternoon to get back for another piss up. My poor old liver is creaking under the strain but I need to soldier on... :D

ELR 1000r or 1100r

I have been lusting after a Lawson Replica for a while and now I've decided to buy one ready for the summer, there doesn't appear to be any for sale. I am after a genuine ELR if poss and not worried about originality.

Anyone know of one for sale anywhere ?

Cheers

z1b top end strip

Thanks for the advice Paul. Looks like I'll be spending a bit more money than I thought. But doesn't that always happen when we delve into the unknown ? :) So far it looks like I'll be needing correct carbs, replacement barrels or rebore, pistons and possibly another head. Just missed barrels and pi...

I did the compression test with throttle wide open but on a cold engine. The bike had always been down on power and with it smoking a bit I thought it would be the rings. When i took off the camshafts there were pools of oil by most of the tappets except 1, 2 and 3 inlet valves. I am guessiing that ...

Z1b Top End Strip

Decided to dismantle the top end of my Z1b. Not stripped a Z before so trying to learn from all the great info on this website. The bike was burning oil and there is a broken fin on the head that needs repairing. I did a compression check and they were 100 115 100 105. Squirted some oil in and readi...

Both dates sound good. The Bath and West is a good start to the biking calendar and it will be good to get out and about. The roads are actually dry today so I'm off out to fire up the ole zed for a little outing. Roll on summer.......

Yes twas good to see a few faces again despite the rain god dumping lots of H2O directly on the pub car park. CB you were spot on with your prediction that it would be dry only a few miles away. We lost Noel around Exeter but I'm sure he got back to sunny Bodmin in no time at all. After 150 miles of...

Hey Guys Nice to meet up with you all today. The Devon boys on their 30+year old Zeds had a great run back in the dry but the ride up was as wet as a wet thing, it was OK though as I had my 100% waterproof waterproofs on which turned out to be totally 100% leaky. Got home at 6 washed the bike and no...
