Thanks fellas. I checked the timing , and you're right it was a fair way advanced, just waiting on some decent weather to take it for a test ride! The pipes are standard with baffles and the stock air box. Do you think it would be worthwhile putting some pod filters on it and re-jetting or leave it ...

Carb help

G'day fellas. My Z1B has had a big bore kit installed by the previous owner, and I have a hunch that the carbs were never set up properly, the bike runs ok at normal speeds, but if the throttle is opened fast and wide, the engine just bogs down. I've taken the bowl off of 1 carb, and the main jet ha...

I'd go for stainless, they'd look better for much longer. Got mine from Z1 enterprises for around $100.00 US per wheel + post. By the way, if you rechrome your rims, make sure they garantee NOT to remove the original stampings. When i had mine done they ground away most of the original stampings aft...

That makes sense Chris, however i wonder why they would make a washer out of aluminium? I thought it might have gone between the seal spacer and the swingarm on the sprocket side?

What bike is it. Also I think a picture may help, of what you are trying to fit. Bike is a z1b, the spacer in the middle i know goes inside the sprocket bearing seal and the one on the right goes on the brake drum side. But where does the thin one on the left go? So the narrow one (6mm) doesn't go under the nut?

I've had a similar problem on mine. At about 100 mph in a straight line it starts to sway slightly. A suspension expert told me it's most likely the rear wheel isn't in alignment and to check it with the front wheel by setting up some straight edges clamped to the rear wheel and running to the front...

Muffler baffles

G'day all.
The baffles in my z1b mufflers are non existent, and was wondering if any one could tell me how i could remanufacture a suitable replacement. Failing that does anyone have an old one they can lend me so i can make one.
Cheers

I think i"ve stumbled on the cause of my plugs fouling It seems that if i don't ride long enough on warm up with the choke on, the bike splutters badly leading to foul up. I've always assummed that the choke should come off quickly because of the rich fuel produced, has anyone else experienced ...

Running rich?

My zed is running a set of standard exhausts but with no mufflers, it also has the 1000 cc kit, after having the plug fouling issue recently, how would these two factors affect the the fuel mixtures assuming everything else is the same?
