seat

I just got in touch with legend Motorcycles Nottinghamshire regarding a repro seat that they do along with a modified seat catch. My enquiry was looking good until I mentioned that my bike is a 1977 KZ1000LTD. The guy I spoke to wasn,t too sure if the seat that they do will fit the LTD models, he th...

LTD seat base was slightly different to standard seat base on my project bike - http://www.zedrider.co.uk/z1-b.html A standard foam won't fit quite right - so I would imagine the cover would look a bit wrong on it as well. Try to compare your base with standard ones before you waste money on new fo...

Seat alterations

I,m getting my 1977. Z1000LTD well on the way through it,s restoration now, and turning my attention to the seat. It,s an ex USA model , and so it has the usual shaped seat, I would like the flatter European seat. Is it just a case of swapping the foam and cover onto the original seat base, or are t...

Bleed to the banjo on the outlet of MC.

Then bleed to the splitter.

Then bleed to ONE caliper.

Then bleed the other caliper.

You should get a result with that method.

I tried that , but couldn,t get fluid to discharge from the MC

I,m assuming that I would need to open a bleed nipple too in order for this method to work?

the plastic chamber unscrews from the main body there is no need to remove this if you are clearing the bleed hole just use a bristle from a wire brush I looked in the reservoir for a bleed hole to poke at, but there are two plastic discs in the bottom of the reservoir, and they dont come out, that...

I,m having a hell of a job to bleed the front brake on my KZ1000B1, it,s a 1977 ex USA model. it was working fine before I stripped the bike to restore it. After fitting all new brake pipes ( twin disc ) I cleaned up the calipers, checked out the movement of the pistons etc,. then filled the master ...

Engine removal

It,s looking like a lie it on it,s side then, I,m glad I asked the question because I think I might have tried it with the bike upright otherwise. You guys have turned out to be a very helpful bunch which will help me through my learning curve on the Z1. So once again, thanks very much for the advice.

engine removal

I,m almost ready to remove the engine from my 1977 Z1000B1, prior to getting the frame powder coated. The bike is standing on the bench lift underneath a lifting beam with a small chain block hanging from it, I cant decide wether to lift the engine from the frame and jiggle it out, or to lie the fra...

ignition coils

the coils checked out ok with a reading of 5 at the primary and 15 at the HT. I had to remove the plug caps to get a reading across the HT circuit though, the caps tested OK when I removed them so I,m thinking that the ends of the leads are hardened and worn so not making a good connection. I,m assu...
